just moved to NJ. got hired at garden state plaza its about 40 minutes from my house . I have to take the parkway north I will usual be going I believe on off peak hours I'm really not sure of the off peak hours in NJ? if anyone can help with that. Also , people have told me the parking is hell at this mall I believe I have to park at a certain enterance for where I'm going to work. If anyone has worked at this mall or knows this mall and area please let me know .
Parking is probably at its worst on Friday nights or all day on Saturdays. And of course after work hours during the holidays. You can obviously park wherever you get a spot, it's just some spots will be further than others.
Rush is 7-9am and 4-7pm. Going north on Parkway in the morning is not bad since most people are traveling south on the Parkway.
Parking is a pain especially all day Saturday. Not as bad on weekdays since most people are working.
This entirely depends on what exit you're starting from. If you're coming from south of the Oranges / Rte 287 you will hit major traffic during rush hour going north on the GSP.
^The Oranges always have traffic. I think there is traffic through the Oranges on the GSP at 3 a.m. What's up with that anyway? Do the people there use the Parkway as their Main Street or something?

I know! I was driving home one night at 1 am and there was traffic in that area going south with no construction or accident. That's one of the main reasons I NEVER take the GSP when going up north to the Paramus area. I always take the GSP to the NJTpke - I'll pay the extra few bucks so I don't have to worry about the traffic.
Parkway North in the morning is a breeze (from Essex to Bergen--GSP exit). I drive that way everyday to work at 8:00. If you are coming from South of Essex then yes Union area is a mess.
Going home (5:00) I avoid the parkway--it crawls so I take Route 20 to Route 21. Not perfect, but better than the GSP South at evening rush hour.
That's quite a trip. I am not aware of GSP on off peak hours so hopefully someone else can provide you with better advice.
