that is because the law is currently made up by people who were paid by the illegal immigration lobby. they intentionally made the rules so they wouldn't be effective.
do you ever say we don't need more gun laws because there are already xx,xxx gun laws? just curious...
What's the address of this shadowy lobby? US 'Mericans demand to know.
im sure its not very shadowy. when a law is proposed to require ID for voting; im sure every politician in that state starts getting lots of calls from groups and individuals who have an interest in that law. it happens for every issue and im sure if you cant get money into politicians accounts; you are at a serious disadvantage.
well, the answer certainly is never "more" laws. its usually better laws that actually make sense. that's what id say when it comes to gun laws.
i can agree with that. to your previous post, 3,000 audits isn't a lot in the grand scheme of how many businesses there are, but the threat of an audit occuring puts more businesses on guard. of course, the government could perform more audits, if congress would approve funding for them to expand that group....

but you need a realistic expectation that you will be audited in order to act in a way that may seriously increase your expenses. of course, it would require a lot more staff on the part of government to perform the audits. so attacking the issue from this angle probably isn't the most cost effective. my business is audited on a regular basis and we know that someone is coming. but if the government is doing 3,000 in the usa, so lets simply figure 60 per state per year, id imagine most businesses have no reasonable expectation of being audited. in that case, if you are a smaller business then you definitely wont change your actions from the audits.
in reality, the most cost effective way to deal with them is first at the border. you seal it tight and when you catch people you have to make that interaction very undesirable. maybe you can fine the Mexican government for everyone you catch. once you stop the flow of them inside, then you can decide how to deal with the ones here. its not really worth having the discussion of how to deal with them until after the border is sealed.
Captain you would be surprised by the number of auditors they would need to audit enough businesses to make "cheaters" change their ways. That goes for people who under report income, pocket the sales tax they collect, keep their employees payroll tax instead of sending it to the government, hire illegals or classify employees as subcontractors. The problem is so vast that you would be one of the first to complain about government hiring.
By the way every audit/revenue agent would pay for themselves many times over.
