Looking for a town home in Plainsboro NJ. Two communities are interesting - Brittany and Ashford. But both have 30+ years old town homes. Rates are also on par with the market. What is the life expectancy of TH in general?

How are rental values in this area? I am planning to move to a different city after 2-3 years. But need a place to stay till then. Tired of living in Apts.

Thanks

1. Plainsboro, NJ is part of Plainsboro-West Windsor school district. If you do not have kids or schools are not important to you, there is no need to pay a premium for Plainsboro, NJ homes/ town homes.

2. Have you considered closing costs, selling costs in the equation. If you are going to stay there for just 2-3yrs, I just don't see why buying would be a good option. (unless you want to build a rental property). If you are out of state landlord, you might have to hire a property manager who will eat into the rental income.
