I go for early bird specials on Sunday, Monday and Tuesdays.

Example:

20 oz prime rib, steak fries, greens for $13.95
The second prime rib, fries and greens is 50% off
This includes clam chowder, lobster bisque, cream of broc. or 2 salads

Ice cold well water is served as my town is mostly well water.

Pint of beer is $2.25 or $2.50.

This is in Honesdale, PA

When we go out in Montclair or our favorite spot in Rutherford, we spend at least $100 (before tax & tip) at a BYO. Moderate restaurant about $70.

$50 is cheap, especially if you have drinks. On average if we go out to dinner it's about $75 not including tip.

If your just talking fast food (or Fidays, Chilis orsome such) or a local mom and pop little eatery then $50 is a bit high unless you start adding in a bar bill. At a "restaurant" 80-90 before tip is the norm for my wife and I. We really dont go out too much any more but when we do we like to dress for the occassion and go to nice places. Atmosphere and quality of food is most important, travel time to get there and price comes second.

If we get out at under 80 bucks (BYOB) I'm happy. Our normal range is probably 75-150 per couple depending on where we are eating.

Totally depends on where you are going for dinner and in what state you go for dinner. If you are going to an Applebees, $25 will work for two but if you are going to say a steakhouse or fine italian restaurant $75 - $100 sounds about right with wine. In NYC, the sky is the limit really with the amount of choices. When I go to NYC, it tends to run about $100 - $200 for two people depending on the type of restaurant.

Because the DH and I have a toddler and don't go out for dinner alone but once every couple months, when we go out, we go all out. If we go to our favorite restaurant, it is $300+. If we go someplace in the city it is usually $100-$250 depending. But obviously we don't do that every week.

I can't even get out of Crapplebee's for less than $50. Glass of wine for me, a beer for him, appy, 2 dinners, one split dessert is about $50 pretax!

Seriously. I figure a whole lot of people go to say, Applebee's, every week and spend $50-75. You could go to the best restaurant in the state once every month or two for the same cost.
