Hello to All,
Relocating to NJ. I can not comprehend how it is that the school systems in and around West Milford is rated so low. Is there an explanation to address this or is it an anomaly?
Many thanks in advance for any responses.

You thinking about commuting from WM to Brooklyn, bro?

I'd re-think that, pronto.

The short answer is that the schools do not do a good job of educating the students. The average SAT score for West Milford is 1483. the statewide average is 1550. (Good schools in NJ have average scores around 1700 or better.) The schools results on HSPA are similarly meh, not quite reaching the statewide averages.

As the other poster mentioned, you cannot possibly be thinking of commuting from WM to Red Hook, it would easily be a ~3 hour commute EACH WAY. Please simply accept the facts, and face reality. There is no good commute from northwestern NJ to Red Hook, PERIOD. The Ferry from Manhattan to Red Hook only runs limited hours, so it is a no go for commuting purposes, which means you have to drive all the way in to Red Hook. With traffic as it presently is, the drive is going to take ~2.5 hours from eastern Morris Co, let alone considering parts of Sussex Co, or Northwestern Passaic Co. where it will take you longer. People on this board have repeatedly (in several different threads so far) told you the honest truth/the reality of the situation, stop wasting your time, accept it already, and spend your time more productively, on looking for housing where you can actually have a non killer commute. (like Long Island) Either that, or get really busy working on inventing and building the teleporter you would need.
