While I've no doubt these are superior to what I'd find in the supermarket, the prices are still over $5/lb in most cases..

I heard good things about this farm. They offer grass fed beef and other items like poultry and veggies.

There was a place in PA we picked up 1/2 cow, cut how we liked it, completely butchered, frozen, and packaged ready for pickup. Took a little over a month between placing the order and having it ready for pickup. It would have been faster if we bought the entire cow. I think it was just over $5/lb for everything. I'll see if I can find the contact info again and reply to this post.

I buy all my meat 1/2 cow at a time from
Lowland Farm Grass Fed Beef and Pastured Pork, Warwick NY at 1/2 cow its around $4.55 a lb. They are about 1.5 hours from NYC. They might be sold out for the season but they may be able to recommend another grass fed farm. They also sell hogs by individual cuts or by the 1/2 or whole animal. Their pork is amazing! I can't say enough great things about this farm. If you can't secure a whole or 1/2 side of beef, take a ride up there and stock up a big cooler with their individual cuts. They also sell chicken and eggs. You won't be disappointed.
