I just moved to Manalapan, NJ and I currently work in Manhattan, NY.

How do you guys commute to NYC from Manalapan?

Where do you guys park your cars in NJ when taking bus or train?

Eeeeeevil evil racist Google,,,their map directions show a 139 bus going up US #9. I see a few free parking lots further up Rt 9 where many NYC commuters park and take the bus. Not familiar w/ Manalapan since my usual commutes don't hit that part but I suspect similar parking lots down that way,

lol thanks. I actually didn't thought about the bus option for google maps, since I only use it for car only.

Looks like the #139 bus only takes me to Port Authority but I work at South Street Seaport...do you know if any other bus takes me down to there? I don't mind walking a bit from World Trade Center/Wall Street to South Street Seaport....but Port Authority means I need to pay another $116.50 monthly on top of the NJ/NY bus fare.

Check Academy's website to see if there's a bus from your area. I work at the WTC. A lot of people from my area (Monmouth County) take Academy in. At least one takes it to Jersey City and then takes PATH so they don't sit at the Holland Tunnel coming and going.

I live in old bridge so one town north. I take the academy bus from cheesequake park and ride to Wall st. It also goes from pnc. I take back roads to exit 120 to get to the bus stop. That way I avoid rte 9 all together. Depending where you are in mandalapan may or may not work or you.

I used to do this commute from Freehold Township. There are dedicated P&R lots for EACH town. You would have to get a parking permit from Manalapan, or use the daily lot on Rt. 9 north near Gordons Cor... Or if you want to go to Old Bridge there may be daily spots there (without Permit) but you have to get there early.
