Hello all,

I may be relocating to the East Hanover NJ area from Pennsylvania away from my family. I was wondering what the area is like and if it is easy to make friends? I am in my upper 20's so I was hoping to find people around my age range.

I am also a runner, so I would hope to find fellow runners as well. I'm not a big night life gal.

Thanks for the help!

East Hanover is a typical suburban town. It is mostly single family homes with a major business route going right through town (route 10). It is very convenient for shopping, but the road gets very congested. Luckily there are many back roads to avoid it. If you're in your 20's you might want to focus on Morristown as a place to live and/or hang out. But Morristown tends to be quite pricey.

I agree with this. Morristown has good nightlife, and a lot of people your age live there. However, it might not be the best option for you. It's not clear if you've found a place to live, but there are a lot of cheaper apartments in Parsippany.

I feel like making friends in your late 20's is difficult, or you at least have to make an effort to do so. I'm sure there running groups in the area. Join one of those or another group for 20 somethings. Morris County has a lot of great trails / parks for running, especially the further west you get.
