I'm moving to NJ in June and looking for good autism school option for my 10 year old daughter. The work place is Summit and planning to stay around that place preferably. Little away from Summit is always fine as long as the school is good. Pls suggest. Thanks.

Default Autism Schools

Hi, we are in the same situation, moving to the same area area with an 11 year old son with autism. From searching the web, looks like Academy 360 (Verona) is a good option for mid-high functioning autism, but we are trying to see there is something closer to the Chatham area. Just curious what you have learned. Thanks, Will

This is probably too far but there is Eden Autism in Princeton, NJ. It's an hour away, but I think some kids get bused in from that far away in different directions.

I could be wrong, but I think that the local school districts in NJ are obligated to sponsor it if they are not able to provide the services locally. Ask the local school district what they do. There may be a central county-wide magnet school for that.

As far as public schools go Edison has a great program but I am pretty sure there is a school in Livingston which would be close to both Summit and Chatham. Can't remember the name but I will try and find it.

The school I was thinking of is a high school and wouldn't help.
