Their rates are low, but if you file a claim, they will drop you like a bad habit.

Is that pattern of behavior still prevalent with Allstate?
Perhaps someone else can comment on their current treatment of policy holders.

We just looked at Geico to insure our new townhome, and they wanted over $700 more then another company. We also have them for car insurance, so were under the impression we would get a good deal with them. Needless to say, we went with the cheaper company, Liberty Mutual and will most likely be switching our car insurance with them too once we close on our home as their quote was cheaper too.

I am signing up with allstate they can't be beat. Geico was pretty close and I would have loved to stay with them but allstate is saving me an extra $535 from Geico and $875 from statefarm. That is a lot of money to save per year. And all three are pretty big insurance companies.
