Bridgewater locksmith or car dealer

look online and you can get blanks for fob and key a lot cheaper than at a dealer.

My son bought mine for my 02' Honda on Amazon, and it came with really easy directions....less than 20 bucks.

Depends on the car too, some cars if you have another key fob, they let you program another one in the car. I have also had Homeys,,, Home Depot do one too. They do certain car types, Ace Hardware too.

Depends on the car.

I saved a bit of money by purchasing the fobs online (amazon) and taking it to a garage that is certified for my specific brand of vehicle (GM). My car requires a ECU computer/tool to reprogram with all the fobs/keys to be programmed. The tool was only available by a certified garage. $25 bucks per fob and 1/2 hour of labor to program them. Fobs through the dealer would have been $80 bucks.

I have a buddy who literally lost his last key to a Mercedes (yeh.. I know... .. duh). Towed to a specific dealer garage 40 minutes away ($$$). Few hundred bucks per fob plus labor. All said and done (2 fobs)... probably well over a thousand for a dumb mistake.

Where are you? If you're in Bergen County I could recommend 2 places. I just had 2 fobs for 2 cars replaced in the past week. My bag was stolen while on vacation and lost both a key to my car and my wife's. We still had the second key at home but I didn't feel comfortable just having 1 key left for each car.

Like usayit, I ordered the fobs off Amazon. I ordered for a 2014 Jeep (2 fobs were $25) and a 2011 Acura (2 fobs were $54). You can even enter in what car you have on Amazon and it will check that it is the right replacement fob for the vehicle.

My Jeep wasn't a problem but the the first place had a problem doing the Acura so they recommended another place by me. Both places charged the same $65 for 1 key or $85 for 2. Since I had to order 2 fobs for each car anyway, I just had 2 made for each car.
