Heard this is in the works and was wondering if anyone else did too and if it would be open 24 hrs. NJ only has one 24hr Super Walmart and that's somewhere way down in south jersey. I'm near Linden and right now the closest 24hr super-wallyworld is in Easton PA.
Someone told me that the Walmart in Secaucus was transforming into a Super Walmart because the town has lost all of its supermarkets.
IDK if this information is factual, but I'm doing my research.
What I really want to know is whats the point of keeping a store like Walmart open 24 hours in a suburban/rural area?
I've been to a Walmart open 24 hours just past Trenton in PA, maybe Fairless Hills or some town, just off US1. The only point is when you need em they are open.

They're definitely converting to a Super Walmart. We shop there every couple of weeks, and it's like shopping in an active construction zone. Many of the departments have been moved, the workers get annoyed when you ask for help finding things, and the normal stock (not plentiful to begin with) has been reduced by half.
I guess no one heard about what the OP was asking, Super Walmart in Linden.
But there is a Walmart in Linden already not to far on the north side of RT 1. I don't think they will build another so close unless they close the other.
What's going in where the old Ford Plant was in Edison, maybe a Super Walmart there or a Sam's Club??

Well a Super walmart would Surpercede the smaller one I guess Plus a Super Walmart right on rt 1 with better parking would make the existing smaller one that's 3 blocks in from US 1 and with not very good parking, obsolete. So I definately see them putting one there. The last I heard was they're waiing on city zoning and/or DOT approval for things to get rolling. I was mainly wondering if anyone knew about this and whether it would be a 24 hr store because I'm a night owl myself and happen to live nearby.
They are doing a ton of contruction at the Edison Site lately and there are banners about a "Edison Townsquare" comming soon but I have not heard whats going on there yet. Some say a strip mall with a Movie theatre, no-one seems to know for sure.
All I do know is that at both sites there is a TON of traffic already. Having more, close by, is not always a good thing.

I do remember now someone said a SUPER Walmart is going in at the old Ford site because I remember saying there's a fairly new one a few miles away on rt 27 by Costco in Edison and there were a lot of problems getting that one approved.
