Lately I have been getting some robocalls from PSEG (actually comes back to their number) letting me know that since we pay our bill on time every month, we are eligible for a discount. I am not sure if it is legit or some kind of spam pretentending to be PSEG. Has anyone else received these calls lately? The fact the calls actually come from PSEG's phone number makes me wonder. I guess I can call them to find out, but just looking for feedback on here in the meantime.

Sounds like a scam to me. I would call PSE&G customer service to validate the claim and report it if it's not legit.
I have paid my PSE&G bill on time for the last 20+ years and have never heard of this.

It is a scam. I connected one time and was talking to a boiler room operation in India. They claim to be part of PSEG promotions dept. They claimed to offer a discount off the entire bill - which is impossible. Some of the calls claim to have a rebate check for over payment. It is all BS. Most of the time they use spoofed numbers, although occasionally they use a PSEG caller ID spoof.

Wow, these scammers are getting smart using actual PSEG numbers as spoof numbers making it appear it is from them. Thanks for letting me know. I had a feeling the offer for 40% off my bill was too good to be true.

The only place that you might save money on a PSEG bill is on the electric supply and gas supply. Usually they will offer a lower rate for a couple of months or even a year, but after a year you are screwed. They cannot offer discounts on the monthly service charges or the delivery charges.

NEVER change to an outside vendor for your supply.

Yes it is a scam. We moved from PSEG service area to another state. We kept our old phone numbers with NJ area codes. We continue to get these calls from "PSEG" fake phone numbers so it's obviously a scam as there is no account (any more for over a year) linked to our NJ phone number.
