We've been looking at houses in Chatham, we're not a rush so we've been keeping an eye on for anything interesting.
We're not too familiar with the town and would be interested in any insights. Things you like things and you don't. My husband needs to commute to Midtown and we have two young kids.
We are also wondering about Fairmount avenue, we've seen quite a few listings on that road and they always seem to be in the high end. The Fairmount a busy road, because on the maps it seems like a main road in the town.

My best friend had a nice house on a 1 acre on Lafayette. I thought the town was nice, what I didn't dig was the traffic and highways surrounding that area, but you do get a livable commute to midtown and a nice downtown scene with good restaurants, Madison is close and nice for that as well.

Madison/Summit/Chatham are good areas to consider with good schools and doable commute to the city. All best.

Yes, Fairmount Avenue is busy and is a main thoroughfare. Gorgeous homes, though. Of course, many of the homes in Chatham are quite nice. Schools are good. I work in Chatham, and the one thing that would drive me crazy is dealing with the traffic on Main Street, the roads just off it, and Rte. 24. Luckily I only drive in three days a week, on average, and can time my working hours with off-peak traffic.
