We're buying a home scheduled to close on Wednesday. Our mortgage company contacted us today (friday) saying that if closed on Monday we would end up with a rate that's .45% lower than if we closed on Wednesday (we didn't rate lock because rates were too high by the time we had the opportunity). Has anyone had to request an earlier closing date from the seller this late in the game...did they agree?

We have no urgency to move in and will let them stay until Wednesday. Is it absolutely necessary that we do an official lease back agreement - based on how slow the lawyers have been, they'll never pull it off in time...

The only problem can be if the seller is living there, they might have set up a move date for tuesday. If that is the case you can still close Early and give them a use and occupancy for 1 day....good luck with your new home

I don't see how you are going to pulll it off so late in the game.
Have you contacted the sellers to see if they can close on Monday?

Good luck

actually we were able to pull it off by the skin of our teeth. sellers were on board immediately (they already had planned to be packed up this weekend). just took a while to locate their attorney but we're all set for Monday. Thanks for the responses.
