I am yet to move from Boston...we still have to take an apartment depending upon our commute... I am work in White House station ie in MERCK Office...and my husband works in Long Island ie Woodbury (Hicksville)...i heard near my husbands office there is a train station which is 5 miles away from his office...if he takes a train then how will commute the other 5 miles from train station to office...where do we have to take an apt so that it becomes easy for both of us to commute....I am planning to take a train and my husband will take the car , else both of us will take trains depending on how you suggest us to take the apartment.....Looking forward for your immediate and kind reply.
It is going to be very difficult for you to take the train to Whitehouse unless Merk has a shuttle to and from the train station. The train station is at least 5 miles from Merk and you would have to cross a 6 lane highway in order to get there.
There is almost 80 miles separating you and your husband's jobs. This is going to be an awful commute for both of you, I'm afraid. I agree with imoapie, above, in that Manhattan would probably be about the best you can do, as it is about equidistant from each of your jobs. Each of you will have better than an hour's commute. Owning a car in Manhattan is a very expensive prospect, so I imagine you would use NJ Transit and DH would use LIRR. Add in subway fares if you don't live within walking distance of 34th Street.
As to the last leg from White House Station to Merck, sorry, I don't have a clue.
Good luck with this one ... SINCERELY! It's not going to be easy.
Ehhh, I'd recommend one or the other seek new employment if at all possible, that sounds like neither one of you will have anything short of a miserable commute, especially if you're considering NJ...
what is LIRR...I got to know that my office has a bus facility from train station? Pls let me know what is LIRR
