Relocating to North Jersey soon, and considering several areas to ultimately relocate with the family. Have heard good things about West Milford. Anyone have any thoughts on the area? Also wondering if anyone has info on the relative commute time from W Milford to Paramus (the mall area at 17 and Garden St Parkwy). Any info appreciated.
I don't know much about West Milford as a town but I can tell you the commute may be difficult at times. Route 17 (which I assume is the last road you will be taking) gets very congested esp. during rush hour, the holiday season, holidays, and Saturdays. Esp. from Ridgewood Ave until you pass Garden State Plaza and can continue as this is the way to the Lincoln Tunnel. If you move to the West Milford area you should learn side roads from Ridewood Ave to your location. Otherwise you will sit on Route 17. There are other towns around Paramus that you can look at. They may be more expensive but worth the time you will lose commuting. Some towns are Maywood, Rochelle Park, Paramus, Fair Lawn. Hope this helps!
