hello everyone,
i am moving to nj somewhere around the border so can have easy access to ny, i have 14 years of sales experience, but i really wanna get in to banking/financial representative/mortgage loan sales, would really prefer it with a bank branch, with base pay plus commission, was wondering how easy is to get in to that kind of job, i mean i saw a add for 1st republic bank, where they even train people for something like that, no cold call to be made, they do intensive adv, no pervious mortgage experience required , it did sound great, but then when i fax my resume there was no responce, and when i called them they said they have already started the training course, and would start the next one in 3 months, do u guys know any other offer like that, where they train people, someone said to me, even if get a job of a teller is good, because then u can work your way up there, dont know what to do, should i wait till i come up there, and go to bank branches asking them for the job?

Tell me a little more about your financial background.

You can do it in a PM if you prefer.

Most banks today are sales oriented, but not having any type of banking background will hurt you.

But a number of them are willing to train if your sales experience is strong.
