I have lived up and dopwn the west coast and grew up there. Hands down NJ wins for diversity and for actually having people that accept and celebrate it. Most of the folks out here that claim that title change their personality based on what the person they are dealing with looks like or what they think of that person (again that's because of what they look like). I learned to be who I am always no matter whom I am dealing with in NJ.

Diverse or "Liberal". Diversity = Newark, Camden, JC..etc. All the suburbs are pretty much "potato salad with alot of mayonaise"

Some rich suburbs aren't. Non-white, non-hispanic:

Englewood Cliffs - 30%+
Alpine - 20%+
Livingston - 15%+
Watchung - 10%+
Millburn - 9%+
Mountain lakes - 5%+

Ok..."potato salad with alot of mayonaise and a splash of pepper"

I would not call that diverse..I'd call it progress
