I got the Triple Play for $99. Should I call and negotiate a new contract, maybe I can get it for less? Maybe consider Verizon or ????? Suggestions Please.

One thing for sure, I'm out of work and can't afford more than $99.

Tell them you are looking at other companies but you would like to see if they would extend the promo so you can decide if you want to stay with them.

In my past experience with Comcast, you normally have to wait 6 months after a promotion ends before you can take advantage of another one. Who knows if they have changed things due to the economy. I currently have a triple play package that runs through early 2010.

Good luck dealing with their customer service, my experiences have been less than pleasant.

I don't know, I guess my mind works differenly than others. But wouldn’t it be wiser to save $99 since you are currently unemployed?

It would but then I'd go crazy without TV, PHONE and INTERNET. It's just something some people can't do without. Besides, w/o INTERNET how can I be on City-Data?.......

Actually I was paying more for all 3 and last year went with the promo as I saved some money.

Yeah who needs food if you have internet. But in all honesty you can save by eliminating some services. Do you have a cell phone? If so remove Comcast phone service. You can also save a few dollars by subscribing to basic cable, but I'm sensing that you hunger for more channels than what basic offers.

call them and try to negotiate. if that doesn't work, ask them to disconnect. then after a day or two call them again and get a new service contract on your wife/gf/friend/roommate/parents/whoevers name. the new person must say they are just moving in and you moved out. of course your phone number will change but you get the $99 contract for another 12+ months.

Oh that's a little exaggerated ,the basics come first, . But I'll tell you, I do better in these times shopping for food and cooking frugal than anything else.

Anyone using or switch to Verizon package for $79.99? Also get $150 rebate with this. I just received it in the mail.
