We are considering taking a position in Morris Plains, but will be moving from the Atlanta area. We would like to keep our costs down, and see we can get a lot more for the $$ when we look west of Morris Plains. How far west would be a easy commute (30+/- mins) and desireable for a young family of 5??
It's been a while (8 years) since I worked in Morris Plains, but when I did I lived in Green Twp, exit 19 off of Rt. 80. I budgeted one hour for the trip, and never had a problem being on time, usually I was early. Traffic is heavy, but moves better than on alternate routes, such as 206.
The biggest problem for me was the sun glare. You are driving east as the sun is coming up.
That is one of those questions better determined by the prospector this is s good source for researching that info NJ.com: School report card. Good luck & have fun looking!!!
Depending on your budget, you may not have to go that far. There are all sorts of towns surrounding that area. Most of it is where the hilly topography of Morris County and NJ starts off. Nearby you have Rockaway, Denville, Randolph, etc which are all under 30 mins, some well under.
Also depends what type of topography and density you like.
