I love IKEA! I love that they have Swedish food market and their fast food is extremely cheap!
For example:
2 hot dogs + soft drink + chips = $2
1 jumbo hot dog + soft drink = $2
Large Pizza slice + soft drink = $2.50
Large cinnamon bun = $1
Chips = $.75
Hot dog = $.50
+ They have much more food to choose!
They also have excellent furnitures and stuff! But I go there for the food
I've actually stopped at an IKEA not to shop but to have lunch. Their Swedish meatballs are awesome, esp with the special. We've also purchased the meatballs frozen, then heated them up as appetizers for dinner parties.
I love ikeas food court! When I was a SAHM it was one of my favorite cold weather trips. I'd take my son to play with thier toys then go to the food court area to have some lunch the kids special is dirt cheap and the food is awesome. LOOOOOVE the swedish meatballs!! BTW, did you know they also have an amazing breakfast spread? And it's cheap too, makes it worth getting up early to beat the weekend rush at ikea!
I go to the one in Elizabeth (right near Newark airport) almost once a month for the extremely reasonably priced Swedish food. I thought I was the only one until a Hispanic lady with her young son walked up to me, upon entering the store, a few weeks back and asked me "What time does the cafeteria close?"
Swedish meatballs with cream sauce and mashed potatoes, a lingonberry soda, and chocolate cake is an unbeatable combination. I have never tried their fast food/hotdogs, but I'll have to check it out.
They also have a great marketplace for Swedish grocery items.
Besides the food, and even if you don't like the furniture, IKEA has great stuff for the kitchen. I was there over the weekend and I picked up a salad spinner and this Caucasian woman came up to me, and asked me what I was holding. I explained the concept; I think she even bought one!
