I always wanted to know this. For those that don't know, there is a fence on the outside right by the parking lot going towards the entrance with wires on it saying "extreme danger-electrified fence". i'm curious to know why they would put something so close to the public if it's really electrified.

Six flag sux. If you want to stand in lines for hours under the big red sun, be my guest. Why don't they take a page from Universal studios and keep guests comfortable while waiting on line. No wonder they are losing money.

A lot of houses have signs warning of burglar alarm systems in operation. Some of those signs are just signs but it keeps some of the burglars away.

Why don't you go touch the fence and see if it really is electrified?
BTW electrified fences will not kill you but it will knock you on your ass.

Default typically no

Electrifying the outside fence that abuts public access would be a lawsuit waiting to happen. Places life the former jungle habitat had the predator and baboon enclosures electrified. The safe bet is no way the perimeter fence would be hot wired.

Growing up in Jackson, I have been down and around many back roads around Great Adventure- some places there is only a chain link fence between you and a variety of animals. It was great to roll around in a foggy car, skipping school, and checking out the animals. The fences were not electrified-- I'm a little older and wiser now and wouldnt dare to see if they turned the electric on!

I dunno-the property I hunt has an electric fence that does an poor job of keeping the deer out of the cultivated areas-hence the need for me to be there. I got zapped by it once when I was disconnecting it via the insulated handle so that I could get to the other side (we would disconnect, cross it, and then reconnect), but there was lots of dew that morning. It felt like I had grabbed the spark plug wire on a car and I could feel the shock go right up my arm-nothing more than that though. I guess maybe it could be dangerous to someone with a heart condition.
