Hi Everyone,
I've been looking at property in the area between Las Vegas and Conchas Dam and was wondering if anyone could share their perspectives on the area. I love NM but the crime in areas I've lived around like Belen has me kinda nervous about ending up in another rough region. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Driven through there once or twice, can't be much crime cause there are apparently no people.

I've looked a bit as well. I am always surprised at how much colder it can be around Las Vegas compared to ABQ.

Driving South on Highway 67 is really a treat down into Apache Springs. It's quite a trek but it is truly an amazing landscape and definitely worth the drive. Driving east on Hwy 104 out of Las Vegas you can occasionally see wild horses running. I'm assuming you're wanting to be closer to Conchas or?? Very remote and yes very cold in the winter because of the elevation. Are you buying raw land and planning to be sustainable, or have cattle or what? A lot depends on that.
