I'm hoping to move to Silver City in a year or so, but wanted to get an idea of vets in the area who I could take my house rabbits to. They're considered "exotics," so the vets who just see dogs and cats wouldn't have the medical knowledge to treat them properly. Anyone here have rabbits and can suggest a vet?

Thanks!

I raised rabbits for 17 yrs and knew more about them than the vets. Most vets spend four WEEKS of their veterinary school learning about rabbits. Not much.

Rabbits don't need rabies shots or any other ones.

Default Yes

There is at least one that treats rabbits that I verified by phone. There may be a second but was on lunch break when I called.

I'm only asking so if any of my 4 rabbits get sick and I'm unable to provide treatment (I know some, but not everything) there would be a clinic to take them to. Even here in Albuquerque, there are only 2 vets that I feel confident that they know anything and 1 of them is prohibitively expensive.
