Hello,

My roommate and I are going to be in the city for a night as we road trip to Houston and Dallas next week (we will be in the NOLA area thurs. night and friday) We want to stay very close if not in the French Quarter. I've been twice and loved the area. I know hotels are expensive around there so I was hoping if anyone could help us in finding a cheap/clean one to stay at. Any suggestions?

Before we moved here we always did Priceline and bid on a room. We never paid more than $75 for a room in the Quarter, and we have gotten them for as low as $45. Sometimes parking was free (a $25 - $35 value) with the deal. We still do this sometimes when we want to spend a night in the Quarter. You don't get to pick the specific hotel with this process, but we've never been disappointed. I can't remember all of them, but the Dauphine Orleans was nice, and the Hotel St. Marie is my favorite.

That's awesome I'll look into that. Thank you!

They used to have a wall with a bunch of hotel pamphlets in the tourist center upon just entering LA that you could use to call a hotel and get a really good rate. I don't think you have to do it from there but the kicker is that they're same day reservations and based on availability but we never had a problem getting a room at the Bourbon Orleans (my favorite hotel in the FQ and perhaps the BEST location) for $69 a night.
