I love a good Roast Beef Po-boy. I feel like I've tried most of the good ones, but am always curious to hear other people's thoughts on the matter. I think my number one has to be the roast beef po-boy at R & Os. The beef and gravy are delicious and there is something about their sesame seed bread that I really like.

This can get pretty subjective. Bread quality, how it's dressed, dryness all make a difference. Roast beef can be served up a number of ways. On the low end, places will throw pre-sliced roast into powdered gravy mix and call it a day. On the high end, you'll have a quality cut of meat braised with stock and a reduction until it is super tender and flavorful.

R&O's isn't like a lot of other places in that it uses a different bread and the roast is "chunked" but not quite debris. Also, their gravy is thicker than a lot of other places. I think they are decent, but not my favorite.

For me, I think the best is a tie between Bears @Gennaro's Bar in Metairie and Guy's uptown.

Guy's is high on my list also. I think my favorite right now is Crabby Jacks, but my favorite has changed several times since I've lived here, after trying new places. I can't remember ever having one that was bad. I love the food in this city.

Bears does have a nice one. I'm ashamed to say as a New Orleanian, I've not had Roast Beef at Guy's, just the shrimp (which is really good).

Parkway is really good. I like the surf and turf - roast beef with fried shrimp!

I've had that one too, it was quite good. Is it the same at the one in Covington too?

Has anyone had Frady's? I've heard they have a good one.

Not a big fan of roast beef poboys. If I have a poboy it is usually oyster.
