I will say that yes, they have choices, just like the rest of us, but if you grow up in poverty with a pathetic educational system, it does not give you lot of hope for the future. Yeah, it's real easy for you and I to say "get a job", "go to college", when the truth is, we have no idea what it's like to walk a day in their shoes. So, maybe instead of being arrogant, you could try to be more understanding about those who have had a much different life than you...
Did you not read my entire post? I know literally a ton of African Americans who have brought themselves up despite growing up in the slums. My city has entire neighborhoods that are full of Middle class respectable black families that have chosen to hold themselves to a higher standard.

Simply put, it is time to put our foot down and say that enough is enough. You can only go through so many excuses, so many welfare checks, so much affirmative action, and so many black presidents before people begin to expect a little more from you.

I guess you've never been less fortunate.

We all were born with common sense tho and know right from wrong. Jus because someone is less fortunate does not mean they have the right to go out and inflict pain on the community.....and yes, I have been less fortunate, I wasn't born into money

No we are not all born with common sense. No one says they have the right do to anything, but when your stomach is touching your back and daddy is not there and momma (or guardian) could care less, you do what you have to do. You sound like some spoiled guy from the Country Club. Lot's of crimes come from greed yet the root of it lies in parenting, poverty, and necessity.

Mannn, do you even know where I'm from? I grew up downtown in the 6th ward of new orleans, so Ive seen a lot living in the inner city, and being in a country club is far replaced from where I'm from, hell, my grandparents raised me in a world where plenty Black boys dont have a shot , I didn't have a lot but I wasn't no dummy out there in the streets robbing and killing ...We ARE born with common sense,God instills this in you....,its up to you to use it bruh.

Common sense has nothing to do with many petty crimes.

You still don't get it do you. Common sense has everything to do with everything. a criminal knows that his bad actions could have negative results...that's why most of em do dirt at night...not to get caught and blend in with the darkness

It sounds like you're condoning criminal behavior. I assure you that nobody here is from the Country Club.

I find it hard to believe that most violent criminals don't have their basic needs met. This is the US, not Somalia. Everyone below the poverty line has access to food, shelter, child support services and emergency medical care. I seriously doubt that juvenile offenders are robbing/raping/killing so they can feed themselves.
