Has anyone noticed that all of these low income units rarely have 3 bedroom units for families with more than two kids? Why is it that most of them always build these units with a whole bunch of studios and mainly one bedroom. I was lucky that I got accepted to a few, but had to turn them down when I saw the space. The bedrooms were extremely tiny.
Is there anyone here who has been accepted for a three bedroom apartment? Are the rooms small?
Do they have more than one bathroom?

sorry for your past experience. I was blessed with a 3-bedroom 2 bathroom through housing connect. when I first viewed the apartment I thought the rooms was small and was going to turn it down. but after thinking it through and realizing this opportunity was a dime and dozen I took the apartment thinking I Would have to downgrade and once I move in I had enough for all my furniture.
also I was told by the management company that with the affordable housing the city gave them a guideline regarding room sizes.

Probably because most people need studios and one bedrooms... Besides, it's low income, not the Ritz Carlton. If someone wants 3 bedrooms and multiple bathrooms, they can pay MARKET RATE rent.
Imagine not being satisfied with the free stuff other people are funding for you...
can you imagine? the kids would have to share a bedroom.
i dont know, my three sons all had the same room, and had nice fulfilling lives.....
Actually, housing like that should not even have three bedrooms, a house has three bedrooms and thats a luxury. Housing is for people that are down on thier luck, etc....and its supposed to be temporary until you get back on your feet and are in a better financial situation it wasnt designed to be a life long tenancy.
The city is spending millions of dollars from taxpayers like myself to build these buildings, they should create something decent, not a shoe box size bedroom that does not fit a queen size bed.
FYI: I pay a lot of taxes and these so-called affordable housing are not that cheap. Have you checked the monthly rent for a three bedroom?
Why not look for a market rate apt on your own? It might just be cheaper... besides, we all have a choice...
