Hi,

I was assigned a log number (2**) and asked to submit documents for the Glassworks waiting list.

Does this mean that I am in the running for the unit or in the running for a spot on the waiting list?

I would think for a unit. Definitely ask but the log numbers are for the waitlist, you're already on it with a number. The posting didn't state if there are vacant units so it's confusing. I would ask to clarify because they may only have 1 or 2 units and it may not be the size you want so I wouldn't go through the hassle without finding out first.

Thanks let me clarify.

On housing connect the lottery is listed as Glassworks waiting list. I assumed I was applying to join the waiting list and was surprised that I received a document request.

I just received a log # and a document request today.

So it sounds like you're saying that I was assigned a log number for the waiting list.

There are 6 units available in my bracket.

Yes I applied for this as well so I know which one you're talking about. The log number just came out because I checked last week for Plank Road and this wasn't out yet. What I was trying to say is that, when they list the number of units on the HC website, it may not be the current vacant units. Most of the time it's for the total number of affordable units as you're going on be on a waitlist for when someone moves out. So even though it says x number of units, they're not all available now.

Often times they'll post for the waitlist but also mention how many are currently vacant. This one did not. So I would send the initial docs but inquire what's available now before going further.

In any case when they reach out for docs it's not to be on a waitlist, it's for currently available units. You're submiting docs for a unit (because your log number is low). I guess they're moving fast? Good luck!

Yep! Keep us updated!

Looks like an interesting building. I wonder about insulation since it's a converted warehouse and utilities cost. Seems like some units have gas some are all electric.

My log number is 8xx

I've also been curious about this. Is it for re-rentals? The buildings seems to have been built several years ago. But my log number is 26XX so I might have a while to wait yet.

I believe so.

I emailed to see if i can see market rate 1 bedrooms while I'm waiting. They got back to me and said they don't have any to show right now but Will likely have some soon.

I just got a docs request for this waitlist lottery that closed in January 2022, log 3,1xx. I will withdraw.

In looking at the details again it's odd they say some apartments have gas heat and others have electric, I don't think I've ever seen that before. Seems unusual for units in the same building to have different heating systems.

I assume the 2018 notice below is for the same ‘Glassworks’ building. It mentions some units gas heat and others electric. It appears as if a position of a much older building was adapted into housing that included new additions. It is my guess that perhaps there were some legacy utilities from the former use and that begins to explain why the different heating systems.

PS,
130% AMI max income for one person on this 2018 lottery was $95,030. In 2024, 1 person 130% AMI lotteries have max income $141,310.
