4.unless your a rich yuppie who can afford 3,000 dollars a month for rent in manhattan you'll be stuck living in a filth hole
5. traffic is horrible
6. subways are filthy
7. rude people who know that they have more than you and will have no problem making you aware of that
8. everything is over priced
9.racism
10.hard to find a decent clean park
don't forget to submit your 10 reasons as to why you should move here or shouldn't move here
Wow...sounds like you really need to leave NYC. You will be surprised how 7 or 8 out of the 10 you listed above apply to San Diego as well (everything except weather, subways as they have none really).
I wish you luck, but I do agree...it's time for you to peace out! Somebody else will gladly take your place and be happy for the opportunity...that's what NYC is all about!

There's a reason the song goes AUTUMN in New York.
4.unless your a rich yuppie who can afford 3,000 dollars a month for rent in manhattan you'll be stuck living in a filth hole
While that may be an exaggerated, its certainly a very expensives city, and salaries should be considered in that context.
5. traffic is horrible
Well, yeah, but ditto for DC, Atlanta, a bunch of other big cities. Sometimes in NY you can find a very easy drive against traffic. And of course its easier to be car free than most anywhere else in the USA.
6. subways are filthy
They seem better than when I was growing up. Well the cars at least. The rats in some of the Manhattan stations are still rather unpleasant though.
8. everything is over priced
Except produce, right? Unless you are in Manhattan.
10.hard to find a decent clean park
Whenever I am in NY I am impressed by the number of neighborhood parks and playgrounds. Often quite attractive with big old trees. Not sure exactly how clean the are.
I can agree about the rent and the transit system. The transit system is getting ridiculous and I'm tired of seeing people who I know renting out closets for 1500-2000 plus a month. In the end, there's so much I can complain about NYC but in the end there's not many cities that can stay up 24/7 or have a running 24/7 extensive train system, and many more.
5. traffic is horrible
7. rude people who know that they have more than you and will have no problem making you aware of that
8. everything is over priced
9.racism
As a respite from all of this you wish to move to Southern California???????? Have you ever even been there, or just saw a lot of 90210?

actually no i have never been there but i got a penpal from southern california, chico to be exact and he was great and explained everything to me, sent me photos, told me about apartments, a freaking one bedroom in a gated community with a pool costs 600 dollars a MONTH including cable/internet. way better than anything in new york city if you ask me.
OMG,the day before yesterday you were moving to Bed Stuy.
