What's an RN salary these days? The only affordable brownstones anymore might be in Bedford Stuyvesant, and those have been getting snapped up.

What do you mean by "brownstone"?

The lowest cost for a brownstone w/b $500K and up. The average cost in Brooklyn is likely $2M or more.

So, on an average salary of $75K, no a brownstone isn't likely.

A relatively decent 3 bdrm, in a relatively decent area will run $2500 and up. In a truly nice area, like to be $3K and up. This, of course, w/b in the outer boroughs, not Manhattan.

Of course, in lessor neighborhoods, you can find cheaper apartments.

If you have some specialty training and experienced that could get you a six figure salary, then things become a bit more affordable.
