Broadway is one of the last remaining industries where people of real talent have a chance to earn a decent living. With the demise of operas and classical music, where else will all those sopranos, tenors and string and wind players turn to for work?

Perhaps citylove101 feels differently, though Harrier won't pretend to know why.

Its interesting that when the cops stop and frisk they don't see "humans". They see "blacks". Ditto for many employers.

So let us not pretend as if different types of humans don't have different perspectives, even on many of the same issues, based on their experience of life in this country.

Nonense. They see young thug or wannabees.
Otherwise, the police would be SQFing black females & old black males as well.
Remember, the % of blacks stopped equals their % of street crime perp descriptions.
BTW, what are the demographics of Broadway ticket scammers?

S&F down 80% in 2013 and yet crime also dropped. That just shows how much S&F had nothing to do with crime fighting. By the way good detective work and not S&F to meet monthly quotas is what led to the "poster boy" being caught.

What??? Really? That's incredible, that show is over 15 years old! Well, it just goes to show how amazing it is--not all Broadway is art but The Lion King is. I literally wept during the opening number, I was so moved.

He showed his ID to buyers & allowed them to photo it, and possibly him.
Even you could have solved this one.
Of course, if police has happened upon him while he was scalping tickets, and stopped to question him, you'd be outraged.

I hate to admit that neither have I and I think a lot of other native New Yorkers that grew up in the city have never either. Hence I don't know what's so shocking about the topic of this tread.

What will be the next shocking topic? The demographics of people who visit the top of the Empire State Building and 30 Rock are shocking?
