Those were some great shots of the Bronx, I have been needing to make a trip up there to see that part of NYC. It will probably be something I get around to doing when it gets warmer out this spring.
1) the second name is in reference to his old C-D name just FTR
2) after your attempt at humor on the other thread, I find it difficult to take constructive criticism from you
You laughed, you know you have made a dumb sewer rat joke in this city, how can one not. Anyway, who cares, I definitely need to get up to that area to see more of it.
Well I will be taking sweeping pics of the Southern Bronx (south of 165th that is) in the Spring..probably early May. Oh the wonders you shall see! Then you can tell me about being "too average"....
Institutional investors busied themselves buying up Bronx investment properties in 2012 as they looked for places to park their capital, according to a report by Ariel Property Advisors released today.
That's no surprise...insitutional investors know far more about what's happening in the borough than you or I. If they are placing substantial bets/investments in the Bronx, it's because they know what's coming. And anyone who has been their recently would understand what is happening in the borough...
Thanks for the pics NYKiddo...my gf lives in the (Tudor style) building in the last photo. The building has a nice courtyard with a gazebo and the apts are big. I used to live around there myself and miss walking and riding my bike on Mosholu Pkwy and the convinience of having everything close by. I even saw my old place of employment in another pic (Bx Lebanon Hospital). The Bronx is FAR from average but people expect it to be Manhattan and it's not nor does it need to be! People will not be satisfied until all the character and the characters that live there are gone. The place is going to end up being a boring "Walmartized" version of its-self in another decade or two.
Or Brooklyn. I think the original poster recognized the positives of the neighborhood, which is great, however, I think what she is looking for is a more gentrified neighborhood. There are great bars/pubs, restaurants, beer gardens, and very cool hotel- Bronx Opera House which has a 96% positive rating on Tripadvisor. The BX is not BK, and BK is not Manhattan. Every borough is unique, and within those boroughs there are neighborhoods that are more interesting than others. If you want great bars/restaurants/hotels within walking distance then you're rent will be anything but AVG.
I'm a young professional in the BX, and I love it. Love my neighborhood, love it's rawness and potential, and above all I love the rent I pay.

Yes, if there's anything we've learned in the last decade, it's that institutional investors are never wrong.
edit--just realized I responded to a 14 month old comment, oops.
