I rarely see any insects during my morning bike ride but I have gotten many bites this year. The source appears to be the Hudson River parks and piers between Battery Park and Chelsea Piers that I stop at for a few minutes before turning around. I was wondering if anybody else is noticing bug bites after visiting these areas.

Yet another reason for me to be happy about giving away our two bikes.

Mosquitoes rarely travel far from their birthplace so there are likely many undrained puddles around. Not likely the larva would survive in the fast moving Hudson. I am surprised because we have had so little rain this Summer.
