Yes, but doesn't this actually buy you one free month of inspection time for the following year if you do it late like this? Say yours expires at the end of August, but you wait til early am on September 1. Then when you go to get the inspection, they give you a September sticker, right? So the following year you would have until the end of September, effectively buying you one free month by doing the inspection one day late.

I don't know - maybe it doesn't work that way. I always do mine at the beginning or middle of the month it expires in because I don't want to have to wait on any lines with other procrastinators at the end of the month.
