Wait, some developer buys two lots for $244,000 and plans to put up an 8-unit building and this merits an article asking if this is a "development boom"?
It's hard for me to see how one developer putting up an 8-unit building is a "boom" of any kind. Perhaps it's a harbinger of what's to come but that remains to be seen, and one building is not a boom.
Agreed, and perhaps not as pretty as eastern Bed Stuy along Stuyvesant ave and vicinity. The G word will be at full force in Ocean Hill very soon, although it's already there. Broadway Junction is also in Ocean Hill, Ocean Hill's eastern boundary is Ralph Ave, northern boundary Broadway. I've seen new comers getting on and off all throughout the day on Halsey and Chauncey along the J. A portion can very well be walking south into Ocean Hill instead of north in Bushwick or west into Bed Stuy proper.
