Saw this piece on CBS and it seems that animal cruelty is becoming an epidemic in Nassau County. I had a friend who was thinking of moving there but this, along with the fact that it's the suburbs, convinced her to seek other places to live.
Is animal cruelty really worse in Nassau County than other parts of New York?
I wanted to see how it compared to other parts of NY, especially NYC so hence it's on the NYC forum. "Is animal cruelty really worse in Nassau County than other parts of New York?"
Seems like a crazy place where people hit animals so guess I will stay in NYC!
I know someone who rescues animals all over NYC. If you think NYC has less animal cruelty, then you need to get out more (I don't mean that to sound rude or anything). It's no less prevelant than anywhere else.
Also, the article states that animal cruelty has gone up 20% because people have reported it. That doesn't mean it's higher than NYC. If NYC has a low amount of reported incidents, it doesn't mean it's not happening.
Did you see that poor puppy? That was BEYOND "hitting".
NC is still a better place to have dogs then any of NYCs ghettos, where "Dog Fighting" is a common form of entertainment for the locals. That and at least you can have a house with a backyard for the dog to run around in.

Ugh, I get sick to my stomach seeing that. Unfortunately we do not live in an uncivilized society, otherwise I'd tie steaks to those worthless pieces of crap and let those poor dogs have at it.
