I am looking for 2 beds 2 baths apartment in a good neighborhood.
Unfortunately, I e-mailed few properties and they will call me once they have any vacancy.
Is it hard to find a place in NYC myself?
Shall I look for a broker?
I don't want to move and end up paying days or even weeks in a hotel
What's our budget and what is a good neighborhood to you? Some people consider trendy/gentrifiying a good area. Others want the opposite, quiet and calm.
Hard to give you an answer since you don't mention money. Maybe your expectations aren't realistic. Try answering ads that provide a telephone number, instead of emailing.
I don't know the average cost for 2beds/ 2baths apartments in general in Brooklyn. I am willing to pay for a convinent place that is acceptable to train, shops, and restaurants.
Can someone educate me about the market a little?
For instance, I know that Brooklyn is cheaper compared to Manhattan.
Can I say $3000 - $3,900 is enough for 2beds/ 2 bath apartments in Brooklyn?
Go on the major sites, like Douglas Elliman, Corcoran, Halstead, Citi Habitats, Brown Harris Stevens, Keller Williams, Bond, etc. and look at listings for 2 bedroom/2baths. That should give you an idea.
Btw, 2b/2bath apartments are not the norm, so they may be priced much higher than a 2bedroom/1 bath. And there's probably a shortage or inventory as well.

Thank you SO MUCH Henna!!
I'll check the mentioned sites. Haven't come across most of them. Very helpful.
Is that how people help in NY?
For some reason I feel like making a reference to the upset employee at Starbucks! lol
The thing about anonymous forums is that someone posting could just be a kid or overgrown kid posting from his mother's basement, maybe not in NYC at all. Don't take it so seriously.
But I will say that believe me if we say we've heard this before -- many people have come on here saying "money is no object" only to find out that it IS an object, because everything (real estate mainly) is so insanely expensive in NYC.
The other thing to remember is that a realtor is going to expect that you either can prove a certain amount of income (40x monthly rent per year), or have a guarantor in the tri-state area who makes 80x the monthly rent per year. You can Google all that.
