Farragut and E.108th is considered a part of Canarsie, which as a whole is not unsafe hence the previous "not the best/not the worst" comment. But this specific corner of the neighborhood is not safe at all in my opinion...not only is smack in the middle of the Breukelen projects, its also right on the border of East New York, which as you might know is quite infamous for being the worst in Brooklyn. If you're used to living in housing projects, you'll be okay I suppose.
If you're looking into moving to Canarsie, I would try to keep to the South West of the neighborhood....near the Paerdegat Sts. Its very nice out there, and very quiet.

This.
That area is "Canarsie in name only". It might as well be East New York. In fact it is so desolate, with no commercial life, it seems more menacing than a lot of parts of ENY proper.
My company sub-rented space from FedEx there until recently. I have a pretty high tolerance for hood areas, but I never felt comfortable around there, or at that subway station, when I would work late.
You would be living in my housing development Breukelen. It's quiet but beware its the hood none the less keep to yourself you will be ok.
