Anyways to get studio in recent NYC neighborhood for about $1,100. I know its impossible and I understand but I work in city and live about 2-1/2 hours away and would like to stay in city a few nights a week and don't want to rent a room or stay in hotel. I'd like to have option to stay weekend etc. amd leave my stuff their.

Don't think so.
Your only other option would be to try to look for a room during the week. I have seen advertisements on craigslist where people were looking to rent a room out for part of the week.
Other than that your only choice would be to try to find a place in northern nj area. West New York, NJ and Union City both have studios in your price range. Heavy Hispanic population. Safe for the most part. Around the clock buses into the city. Anywhere from 20 mins during non rush hour all the way up to 1 hr+ in worse rush hour conditions.
I live in an $1100 studio right now in Harlem/Hamilton Heights...but it's in a rent stabilized building and I moved in 3 years ago. Same apt would go for 1300 or 1400 if it rented tomorrow.
I think it will be hard to find, but not impossible if you keep looking. I remember seeing on some blog/news site a guy rented an $1100 glorified closet right by central park. So since it's not your permanent residence you might not mind living in a super teeny tiny place a couple nights a week.

I'm not sure I understand.
You can't afford to rent an apartment, yet you don't want to stay in a hotel or rent a room.

So what are you hoping for from us?
Maybe this was a hint that he wants all his anonymous City Data buddies to offer up their spacious Manhattan apartments with guest bedrooms 3 to 4 nights a week to him for free.
