To this day it stuns me the power that the Hasidic/orthodox Jewish community has in NYC politics.

Meet the Shomrim

They got what they wanted from these corrupt cops but they made sure to Honeypot them so that these guys would be loathe to talk if caught.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was some underage proposition or drugs involved.

These guys are worse than the Israeli army. I'm not sure what the government is going to do about this one.

Do what? It is not illegal to do what they are doing, so is volunteer firefighting.
You are free to set up your own community patrols in your neighborhood.

If you think that is corrupt - how about Enron telling its employees the company is still in great shape and continue to buy the company stock knowing full well the next day they would be shut down. All the time pulling their money out and selling their stock. How do you look your employees in the eyes knowing you are screwing them and destroyed their retirement.
Now that is CORRUPT. Did I forget to mention Qualcomm ? You got to love corporations that screw their own employees.

Not the first group to have power, money and influence. Even individuals have wielded this in NYC and other places. Power can also corrupt people. There is a saying that goes; If you want to see a mans true character, Give him power. The patrols are not the issue in itself, But if there is discrimination and not contacting actual police once a crime is suspect that is not good obviously.

In regards to Enron, Plenty of companies have done this and still do to this day. Its equivalent to being on a ship that is taking on water and slowly sinking, And the captain and his crew are yelling "Everything is fine! We are all good!!"

What does this have to do with this topic, even tangentially?
