Clearly computers can be programmed to outsmart humans on specific tasks easily. And machines have been widely employed in financial acitivities like trading
/gambling in the equity market. such acts are completely off the original purpose of creating the market place. with hundreds of trillions of American's personal retirement dollars and SS/Medicare money all invested in the same market place, AI machine trading systems poses an eminent threat to the financial stability of Americans and the nation as a whole. it amazes me how incompetent the government is in regulating this to prevent a looming financial/societal catastrophe.

wouldn't it benefit the majority of Americans to illegalize machine-based trading and money digging activities? I know several people in person who make a more than a decent living in robbing the market through clicking their mouse. Some of them confess that they have to deal with an inner guilty while doing this. But the temptation is irresistible for them to quit on their own. So the law makers have to step in to patch up this widening loophole in the system.

Not going to happen. And if it did, the trading would just move somewhere else.
