Once you submit your paperwork all you can do is wait. How long you wait, no one can answer. Just check your emails periodically and continue living life.
You wait and wait. Sometimes they ask you to submit further documentation. After that you still have to wait while they confirm your documents. Sometimes you are waiting so long, they ask you to submit updated documents.
Rarely does someone get an affordable apartment through a housing lottery after one interview or after two weeks. The shortest time that I have seen on here is a few months. They will interview all preferences before others. You didn't say if you are in a preferental group but if you aren't, there might be less apartments in the offering. Also keep in mind that you can interview for an apartment and not get it.
