Nine reputed members of two Queens-based street gangs busted for dealing drugs & guns - QNS.com

"Authorities also recovered heroin laced with Fentanyl — the potent, synthetic painkiller that has contributed to the opioid crisis gripping Queens and the United States."

I wasn't aware there was an opioid crisis in Queens. Thought it was only Staten Island. A lot of things have been happening in Queens lately. A lot of drug busts.

The "only suburbs have a heroin problem" thing is a total myth

I realy don't know what is about drugs that people like so much. There are so many amazing ways to have a good time in life. Look at the K2 overdoses. I have never seen a happy, healthy long term drug addict. Why would any sane person mess with that stuff in the first place?

We need to spend money on schools and healthcare for the truly sick and let these people sink or swim with their addictions.

At this point legalize it all. Tax it. Get it out of the shadows and street corners. We may as well make legal money from it. It is a billion dollar enterprise.

But then again the 3 letter agencies and the boys(and girls) in blue would really have nothing to do. 'Policing' drugs is also a trillion dollar enterprise and provides millions with employment.

Never mind. Don't legalize it. We need these law enforcement, attorneys, judges, bail bonds, catering (for prisons), construction for police stations, prisons, court houses etc, probation officer et al, people to earn money to buy houses, cars and send their kids to college.

Such a vicious cycle.

Not liberal NYC. Ask NYWriterdude. He does not believe in tough sentences for drug offenders and other criminals.

Aren't conservatives supposed to believe in small government?

I was a young party animal in Queens in the late 80s / early 90s. I was also living in Woodside in the mid 70s when they were first starting to talk about the cartel(s) moving in...There were plenty of drugs in Queens THEN. This news shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone...

You don’t know the difference between small government and tougher stance on crime?
