They should have kept quiet about the reduction in fare evasion patrols

How much money is being spent on wages and pensions?

it would be nice to see a breakdown of all operating costs.

MTA is screwed, or rather we all are really.

Their bond rating has just been lowered meanwhile expenses just keep going up.

Unless NYS and or NYC pony up there are only a few ways to bring thing in line; fare and or toll hikes, along with various service cuts/reductions.

Probably high, very very high.

Almost impossible to fight unless the employee unions want to negotiate.

It's the MTA's fault for running **** poor service and they keep raising the damn fares. I've just about had enough. Really considering exploring other options more regularly because for what they charge it isn't worth it.

The MtA needs to declare bankruptcy. It’s the only way it can get out of the ridiculous strangle it’s union has on it. The MTA will never be able to run efficiently as long it’s held down by antiquated work rules and ridiculous pensions.

Unfortunately, that will never happen.

I suspect this is the largest reason why MTA is in financial trouble. The reason is "toxic pensions".

It is not the riders fault because the subway is busier and more expensive than ever.

2nd Avenue subway line won't see completion until the end if the 21st century. That's my guess now if this keeps up.
