And yet we have to contend with 35 year old Citibike transplant morons that bob and weave riding directly in the middle of the sidewalk.

I'm going to guess that punch wasn't the first one thrown. Also, if that guy is 5'7" and 200 pounds, he must have bones of lead.
Why were you riding on the sidewalk? It's illegal, and besides that, extremely annoying to people trying to use the sidewalk as intended.

There is more to this story.
That kid wasnt just riding down the sidewalk and the guy beat his ass. Something lead up to it like the kid was probably an asshat doing wheelies on the sidewalk or riding recklessly. Either or, its illegal to ride a bike on the sidewalk even though its not really enforced unless in a targeted area.

Its the same **** i see constantly by Yankee Stadium where those asshat kids ride their bikes recklessly under the overpass and through traffic down 161st street. The constantly ride in oncoming traffic towards the busses and cars doing wheelies thinking traffic will stop for them while they do their dumb sh*t

So they are both in the wrong and someone wants to play the victim card and the media decides to spin the story to get views/clicks/likes and generate buzz.

If someone does something illegally, that's the cop's job to police and issue summons. If you say something and antagonize the kid to do something. Self-defense claim only works if you fight back when attacked but not provoked. If you punch someone in the face, that's hard to use in a self-defense claim. The kid can easily make up a story with a lawyer and sue you.

In a bar brawl, the loser is the person that punched out someone in the face leaving a cut anywhere. That's an easy lawsuit.

Some of the 16 year olds look 30 these days. 6 foot 4 250 pounds and yet they are in high school.

If you beat up a minor, you lose in any civil court. Public opinion will never back you up no matter how bad the minor acted. If you defend yourself, the best thing to do is not hurt the minor. If the police shows up, you're getting handcuffed and not the minor.

Wow what a moron, he will be picked up soon and fired from his job for being a bully. He wasn't smart enough to know mass surveillance covers all of NYC.
Was it Sean Avery

I’m not going to deal with any minor ever. Just seeing these 30 year old looking kids leaving local high school.

We probably won't find out what happens in this case as the news often doesn't followup. There was an assault in my neighborhood a few weeks ago against a Hindu priest with the attacker supposedly telling him to get out of his neighborhood. There were politicians including members of Congress calling for him to be charged with a hate crime. So far he hasn't been and there has been no followup in the news. Trump was blamed for causing that attack as well.
