Used to be a cigar fan, then I went to smoking the cheaper brands. Used to pay $3 for a 2 pack,or Phillies for $1.
Did not think they tax single cigars.
Today, just glancing behind the counter, 2 for $8.99!

Where did this come from? Talk about a mark up.....

A nanny state law passed under de Blasio. All cigars and cigarettes have a high minimum price now
It's extra dumb because most people buy those crappy cigars just to smoke weed out of

I bought a five-pack of Phillies in Stroudsburg, PA a month ago, less than five bucks.

never noticed it before,, since I dont smoke cigars anymore. Used to like the flavored cigars, aka babyfingers. never really smoked phillies, unless a card game was going on. Blackwoods are horrible as well.
Sticker shock, yes indeed.

People actually smoke phillies? Op, I think you're doing something wrong. Phillies are cut open and the garbage that you smoke on the inside is dumped on the street. Then, as the kids would say, you fill it with that sticky icky, wrap it back up and get fly.

You can get a solid cigar for $8
