There were dozens of cars vandalized on Shore road and the 90s (park side). Cars were keyed and had tires slashed. Supposedly, councilman Justin Brennan is investigating. Anyone heard anything about this?

The only thing I heard was exactly what you wrote.

Don't have a good car in Brooklyn. These things can happen in any block.

Wow. I live there....and I just got a new car. So this is a little unnerving.

It's typically very quiet over in this part of Bay Ridge (or Fort Hamilton, to be exact). But to be fair, the shore park is a go-to spot for groups of teens to looking to drink/smoke somewhere secluded. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the work of a few inebriated morons taking a walk down Shore Rd in the middle of the night, thinking this would be funny.

We are back to Dinkins Days in NYC. I wonder if 'No Radio' signs will make a comeback?

It wasn't just a dozen, but more than 80 cars that were vandalized and unfortunately mine was one of it. They knifed it front to back and slashed my tires. One of the cops writing the police report said they did it to over 80 cars.
Insurance prices were raised in NYC by 30% in the last few months. I switched from Geico to State Farm to save a few dollars and also increased my deductible on Comprehensive to $1000 thinking that there will be no vandalism on Shore Road as it is one of the premium neighborhoods of Brooklyn. But I was wrong and now $1000 less

As they say "YOU CANNOT HAVE NICE THINGS IN NYC"

I had a little 1985 Toyota Tercel in Bay Ridge Brooklyn during the '80s.

In 5 years, it had its rear window smashed for no reason, 2 wheels stolen, another window smashed/radio stolen, trunk popped, and all its wheel covers stolen.

I thought I was cursed, but then moved to Flushing, Queens in 1990 and my car has never been touched since. I guess the law of averages really does exist.

80 cars? That would seem like it would take more than 5 minutes. Nobody saw anything?

I'm just saying if you have Citizen app that app has a lot of stuff on it. How this one get missed.

It is pretty quiet at night on Shore Road, especially when you're by the very large houses and away from the coops---practically no foot traffic.

Funcrusher is right---there are always people hanging out down there, especially younger guys, acting like fools. The cops just don't really hangout/patrol like they could---meanwhile, a few years ago, they rolled up on me once when I was parking my car (I was still in the car no less) to see if I was buying drugs.
