State Senator and Deputy Majority Leader Michael Gianaris—representing the Queens neighborhoods of Astoria, Long Island City, and parts of Ridgewood and currently knee-deep in budget talks—penned a letter to MLB Friday asking it consider bringing the revenue-generating game to Citi Field.
Gianaris, a proponent of expanded voting rights and lifelong Mets fan with season tickets, cheered the MLB’s decision in his letter and encouraged the organization to host the game in Citi Field.
“There is no place in America that better symbolizes what our country stands for than its most diverse county," Gianaris wrote.
Gianaris—who received support from the Mets to have the game come to Citi Field—called the move a “good marriage” combining voting rights in New York with the love of the game.
"If they want to make a statement about going to places that further democracy instead of hindering it, there's no place better than New York," Gianaris said.
Go figure that NYC--where racist politicians won't specifically call out the race of the perps who have been attacking Asian/Asian American residents--is even in contention.
There's nothing unique about the media/society underselling Black-on-Asian crimes; that said, Georgia's deplorable governor and this law's supporters do need to pay. They're no better than the hoodrats mugging civilians decade after decade without consequence.

Do explain what your problem is with the law in question (and don’t repeat claims that the WaPo gave Biden four Pinocchio’s for)
When one actually looks at what the law does, one has to question why mlb did what it did and why NYC is being offered as an alternative location given all of the mess happening here that racist officials are happy to not call out for what they are.
The game is going to be in Colorado.
The mets had it a few years ago they weren't going to get it again so fast.
